Chris Daniels and the Kings painting raises nearly $3500 for the LLS

About a month ago I had the fortune of performing/painting live alongside Colorado musician and Leukemia survivor, Chris Daniels. http://chrisdaniels.com/ He hosted a show with his band members at the Hard Rock Cafe in Denver as a benefit for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society / Rocky Mountain Chapter. http://www.lls.org/ What a brilliant evening of music and dancing and ART!

I chose the subject matter of Chris's current logo, a red truck with a giant guitar in the back, for the live painting. Following the show, the painting was auctioned off for nearly $3500! About 2 dozen attendees of the event made donations from $10-$500 to buy the painting in honor of the LLS and Chris. The Hard Rock Cafe has graciously agreed to host the painting to continue to promote awareness about the LLS. We are all looking forward to seeing where the RED TRUCK will hang prominently in one of the restaurant's many locations around the planet. If you see it - let us know!

Press Release

“Exploring the connection with spirit as it influences the act of creation”

As part of Denver ARTS week in November,

three artists, maxwellvision, jared david paul and laurie maves,

express with minimal materials, narratives from the subconscious

and the cosmic mind. These works on paper represent the mysterious

motion of nature as well as the universal theme of love.

At the opening celebration on November 7th,

'Birth of the New Heart', a theatrical piece

created by international dancer Mila Popovich,

video artist Ellipteo

and composer's Maxwellvision and William Murphy will debut.

Also this evening artist Jared David Paul

will create a primal painting as we circle around him,

Nat Lort Nelson of The Bunny Gang

will fill the room with ambient soundscapes

and a special appearance by the enchanting Xitlali Baila

performing to live drummers.

Performances start at 7:30.

This evening of art and contemporary theater

is a testimony to the thriving arts in Denver.

Hand of Spirit runs November 1 to December 1

Live painting at Arrowhead Golf Course

This is one of the most beautiful outdoor settings I've ever painted at. The Arrowheads are magnificent rock formations near Roxborough Park in Colorado.

Amidst all the flooding and tragedy this past week in the state where I call home, it was an amazing reminder of mother nature's beauty, when she is calm and brilliant.

The live painting of the surrounding landscape at Arrowhead will be auctioned off this afternoon to benefit the CeDAR organization, which is the Center for Dependency, Addiction and Rehabilitation.
